This collectable Antique Georgian Box is fashioned in solid Sterling Silver and is fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1825, complete with George IV mark.
This 'snuff' box was originally used for containing snuff, a mixture of ground tobacco and scented oils. These boxes, made to fit inside your pocket, were very popular in the 18th century when snuff-taking was fashionable. These highly decorated and valuable objects became collectors' items in the 19th century.

This fabulous Antique Georgian era box is 198 years old!! For its age, the box remains in superb condition. There is, of course, light wear in keeping with age, but nothing significant to note.
